The Deputy President Hon. William Ruto has urged young people to take advantage of opportunities provided by the government to attain economic independence. He said that the government through state agencies such as the Youth Fund has provided affordable credit to start and run successful businesses. The government has also set aside 30% procurement opportunities to youth, women and persons with disabilities. He however noted with concern that despite these efforts few are taking the loans as well as applying for government tenders. “I urge youth to take the first step and take advantage of these opportunities for their own personal growth” he said.
