JKUAT Female students win Technovation challange with “Quit Mosquito” – YouTube

An application integrated to inbuilt music player that helps keep away mosquitos scooped the top prize in the Safaricom women in technology apps challenge. The application was developed by students from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and was dubbed as ‘quit mosquito’. The contest, which kicked off three months ago and was exclusive to female students, attracted a total of 30 participants. This included 25 high school teams from alliance girls, Loreto Limuru and Maryhill and 5 teams from Jomo Kenyatta University of agriculture and technology. Each of the teams was required to come up with a problem that affects the society on a day to day basis, and develop an application that solves it. The apps were categorized under health, security, transport, education and gaming
